Benjamin Reed is a 2010 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. After deliberating between going to graduate school for engineering or law school, he ultimately followed in his father’s footsteps and obtained a law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2014. He is licensed to practice in all state courts in Tennessee. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Blount County Bar Association, and the Knoxville Bar Association. Mr. Reed immediately began focusing his practice on criminal law and family law. Mr. Reed’s educational background in engineering provides him with a unique perspective and analytical approach to client’s issues. Additionally, Mr. Reed has a strong support network at Reed & Hickman with over 30 years combined experience between Phil Reed and Mike Hickman. Mr. Reed is looking forward to expanding his litigation and trial experience by serving the people of Blount County for many years to come.

W. Phillip Reed is a 1974 graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in History. He obtained his law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1977. Mr. Reed is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Tennessee and has trial experience in Federal, State, Bankruptcy, Social Security, and City Courts. He is a member of the Blount County Bar Association and a past president. He served for many years as the judge of the city of Friendsville, Tennessee. Mr. Reed has tried numerous types of cases before both judges and juries including criminal defense work, felonies and misdemeanors, personal injury, divorces, child custody and support cases, juvenile and probate matters, as well as representing several Knoxville and Maryville businesses. For more than 38 years Mr. Reed has served as a general practitioner in Blount County and surrounding areas and has handled cases ranging from 1st degree murder to uncontested divorces.

Mike A. Hickman is a 1975 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, having received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude with high honors. As an undergraduate he was inducted into the academic society of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence at the University of Tennessee, George C. Taylor School of Law in March 1978, and was admitted to practice in all Tennessee courts and the Federal Court system. He has trial experience in Federal, State, Bankruptcy, Social Security, and City Courts. He regularly practices before the State Courts of Blount County and all surrounding counties, including Knox, Sevier, Loudon, Monroe, McMinn, Roane, and Anderson. He has appeared in the United States Federal District Court for the State of Georgia in Macon, Georgia, and the United States Federal District Court for the State of South Carolina in Florence, South Carolina, as well as the United States Federal Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee in Knoxville. He is a member of the Blount County Bar Association and a past president. He is a general practitioner practicing in the areas of Wills and Estates, Real Estate, Criminal, and General Civil, including all areas of domestic relations including divorce and pre and post-divorce matters.
